How to Order WIKA Pressure Gauges & Transmitters: A Procurement Checklist for Tight Deadlines

You're managing orders for a mid-sized plant or lab. A critical pressure gauge just failed, or you're kitting out a new line. The engineering team needs a WIKA differential pressure indicator (model 732.51, if I recall correctly) and a WIKA vacuum pressure gauge (the 212.20 series). But the CEO just dropped a deadline: “We need it operational by next Friday.”

Step 1: Confirm the Exact Part Number Before Anything Else

  • Ignoring alternative models. If the exact WIKA model is backordered, ask for a functionally equivalent substitute. I've had good luck with the 213.53.63 replacing the 212.20 for non-critical applications, though I might be misremembering the exact substitution guide.

Final Thought

The way I see it, a rushed procurement is a test of your process. If you follow these five steps—especially the parts about part number verification and delivery certainty—you'll rarely get caught. Budget for occasional rush fees. That $50–100 premium is insurance against a $1,000+ problem. Personally, I'd rather explain a rush fee to my boss than explain why the plant is down.
